What is new for 2026
* Awards: we will announce the top three MF finishers in each race, but other participants can do self service Age group awards when they want to. We don’t really have a place to stay warm after you finish, so many people leave without their age group awards
We are offering “Dawn Patrol” @8:00 am for anyone wanting or needing extra time to finish the course, or if you just want to get out earlier. If you are worried about finishing the half marathon but want to try it, this option might be for you. Runners can start at 8:00 am, but you must sign up for this in advance during registration so that we can track you properly and make sure we have safety personnel in place.
SWAG
Long sleeve shirts are optional and additional $15 this year, but we think you are going to want one. The shirt order goes in on October 5, and while we do order extras if you want a shirt, get registerered sooner!
Onsite we’ll be selling vintage performance shirts for $5, so you might want to bring a few bucks!
ABOUT THE PUMPKINVINE
This is a fabulous venue, a wonderful path…and if you are not familiar with the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail- you will be humbled by the vision and perseverance that a few people had to make this path happen. Check out the story here. The Pumpkinvine is one of the top ten great things about this area!
COURSES
All courses will be out and back on the beautiful Pumpkinvine Trail, starting at finishing at Abshire Park. You’ll get to see your friends on the path. There are a few road crossings, but we will have police there to stop traffic. One of the great benefits of out and back courses is you get to see your friends on the course. You are never alone on the courses!
AWARDS
All paid participants will get a finisher medal. Top three overall MF in all three races plus AG awards in 15 standard age groups. The Monster Mile is a walk and is not timed and not meant to be rushed so there are no age group awards for that. (but you do get a finisher medal)
Costume awards in 10 categories including best homemade, children’s, super hero, most creative etc. We have had some amazing costumes!!! It’s super fun! To be included in the contest, just stop by the Judges station and sign in with your number and distance and take your photo! That way, nobody will be missed. We will inform the winners as soon as you return back from your race.

Parking
Plan to park 1/4 mile away (you can drop off your peeps if you carpool) since there is VERY limited (and possibly
In 2026, Abshire Park lot is being paved, so There is NO parking at Abshire Park, however there are multiple churches, businesses and another small park within a few blocks of our venue. The Boy Scouts will again be directing you in the morning on where to park. Please follow their guidance in the morning.
Reminder, we are out of the city, so it is pitch black this time of year in the morning, so a small flashlight is recommended, especially if you are coming early on Saturday for packet pickup.
Dog Policy
Dogs. We love, love, love dogs! Here is our dog policy for those wanting to participate in the race:
They are welcome to join in the race if:
* They are trained for the distance and will enjoy it!
* Up to date on all shots
* Have experience in crowds and will not be fearful or aggressive towards others
* Your lead line will not impede other runners
* This is not a puppy training event to see how they do
However, just like family- please note that having your dog with you MIGHT impact your performance. Just like having a child with you who is having an off day, your dog might be having an off day and slow you down. Or you might need to avoid other dogs, if your dog is larger/smaller.
Dog happiness comes first!
Please do not put us in a position where we cannot allow your furry friends. Dogs need to be “registered” at packet pick up [FREE] and get a bandana. With a chip start, you can choose when you cross the starting line to allow space, if necessary.
Everyone planning to run with their dog will need to โregister themโ at packet pickup (no charge) and get a bandana!
All proceeds benefit the Community 321 Group.
We have a new beneficiary, the Community 321 Group. If you have been doing this race a while, you know that it has benefitted a local group of about 70 families who have kids with special needs, specifically Down Syndrome. The founding parents now have kids that are adults, so the
VOLUNTEERS
